Garbage pickup

The City of Jasper will be closed March 21 for Good Friday. Garbage pickup for Friday will be Thursday, March 20 and Thursday will stay the same.

4-H fundraiser

Jasper 4-H will sell barbecue lunches in front of Brookshire Brothers on U.S. Highway 96 in Jasper from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 21.

JHS One Act Play

Jasper High School One Act Play will perform "Mail Order Bride" March 24 at 6 p.m. in the JHS auditorium for $5 per person.

Citizenship/Naturalization

The men of the First United Methodist Church will hold their annual auction at the church in downtown Hemphill April 5 at 9 a.m.

Class of 1945

The JHS Class of 1945 will meet for their 63-year reunion at 10:30 a.m. April 5 at Catfish Cabin.

Taste of Jasper

The Pilot Club will hold the annual Taste of Jasper Saturday, April 5, at Wesley Center from 5 - 8 p.m. The club is requesting donations for the silent auction. Call Barbara Wilson at 384-3794.

Air Show

The fourth annual Jasper Air Show is April 5-6 at Bell Field and includes air and ground shows of vintage and experimental aircraft, radio controlled planes, sky divers, and classic cars. For Call Debbie Foster at 384-2626.

The Woman's Civic Club of Jasper will hold their Kentucky Derby luncheon at Glorianna Farms April 10 from 11:30 to 1:00. Call Darlene Nolen at 384-8759.

Bluegrass and gospel

Aconcert will be held April 11 from 5 - 10 p.m. and April 12 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. with music, food and arts and crafts at the Jasper Lions Club Rodeo Arena, Hwy. 96 N. to benefit Lakes Area Hospice. Call 594-8606.

Toledo Bend history

The annual Relay for Life takes place on the Jasper courthouse square April 25- 26. The Few Primary team is selling chances on a handmade bulldog quilt with paw prints and "Dawg" bones.
