John D. McAlister, Sr.

John D. McAlister, Sr., 81, of Mobile, Alabama, formerly of Jasper passed away in Mobile, Alabama on March 16, 2008. Mr. McAlister served in Word War II, was a 1944 graduate of Jasper High School and of Marshall College, Huntington, West Va. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was treasurer and vice president of Mobile Gas Service Corporation.

He is survived by wife Anne McAlister of Mobile, Al, son John D. McAlister, Jr. Tampa, Fl, stepson Chris Byrd of Morrison, IL, sisters Jo Chambliss, Buna, Tx and Nelda Martindale, and husband Donice of Jasper, Tx, grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jacob McAlister, Tampa, Fl, step grandchildren Amy and David Byrd of Clinton, Iowa and Megan Modglin, Morrison, IL.

Services were held in Mobile, Alabama on March 20, 2008 with burial in Pinecrest Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama.
