Jewell Dean Jones

Funeral services for Jewell Dean Jones, 90, of Jasper, were held March 21, 2008 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, burial followed at West Oaks Cemetery.

Jewell died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Rosewood III in Newton. Aformer resident of Beaumont, she was a native and longtime resident of Jasper where she graduated from Jasper High School in 1936. She attended Chiener Business College in Beaumont, then she became the longtime bookkeeper for Johnson's Flower Shop in Beaumont.

Survivors include her sister in-law Zelma Dean, nephew Shirel Womack, three nieces, Glenda Roquemore, Shirley Phillips and Diane Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charlie Jones, one brother James Dean and one sister Opal Womack.
