Keep Jasper Beautiful look for volunteer coordinators

Keep Jasper Beautiful has a full slate of activities coordinated with state and national anti-litter and recycling organizations, but what they need now is a volunteer coordinator.

"The future is bright for this organization," said Patty Shaw, who has appeared in her green Jewel of the Forest costume at many events, but she is looking to pass her "green" torch to more coordinators.

"We need coordinators for each town and community," Shaw said. "We have endorsements from the cities of Kirbyville and Jasper, the Jasper County commissioners, and many opportunities for grants," Shaw said.

KJB will be part of the Texas Trash Off April 5, and a county-wide clean up day May 17. KJB also sponsors the recycle trailer that is in the Community Church parking lot every third weekend; this month it is April 14-17.
