Whew! Good weather may prevail for this year's air show
Show to be held at Jasper County Bell Field Friday, Saturday

Courtesy photo by Vance Walton VINTAGE PLANES, experimental craft and radio-controlled flyers will all be buzzing Bell Field for the Jasper Air Show this weekend,April 5-6. Gates open at 8 a.m. to view displays on the ground; the show in the sky starts at noon.
Partly cloudy and temperatures in the mid-seventies are forecast for the Jasper Air Show this weekend, April 5-6, at Jasper County Bell Field.

Due to FAAsafety regulations, people are allowed to bring lawn chairs and umbrellas for comfort, but no ice chests, large bags or back packs.

The airport opens at 8 a.m. to give people time to see the planes and displays, and enjoy the activities and food. Some of the vintage craft are offering sorties rides for a fee, and children 7-17 can sign up for free airplane rides with the EAA chapter from Leesville, LA.

The air show begins at noon and will highlight the skills of Debbie Rihn Harvey, one of the highest ranked female aerobatic pilots in the country.

The air show includes the Texas Heat Wave, radio-controlled pane enthusiasts from Dallas; a parachute jump team; and stock car racing.
