Walking the halls in Brookeland

The school year is flying by in Brookeland High and Elementary. Many activities have been taking place. Highlights have been the UIL academic competition where the high school placed fourth in district.

Our One Act Play placed first at district and the CX Debate Team competed at the state tournament.

The ladies golf team consisting of Britani Adams, Kayle Halmon, Kimberly Rudd, Brittany Donohoe, Heather Chiappone and Shannon Townsend placed third in the Hudson ISD tournament.

Ladies softball has been competing in district play and baseball for the buys has been in full swing.

In April Kassie Johnston, Allason Halmon, Morgan Smith, Marshall Grant, Sloan Cofty, Lacy Lowe and Haleigh Collins will compete in the Sabine County Livestock Exposition.

Cheerleader tryouts for the 2008-09 school year will be April 14 in the gym.

All high school students are looking forward to prom night scheduled for April 19 at Rayburn Hall.

We are extremely proud of grades three, five and eight. The eighth grade posted a 100 percent passing rate in TAKS reading. We hope that the rest of our students will keep the trend going.
