Students of the week
Jesse Borner, senior of Jasper High School, has been selected as student of the week for the week of March 31 - April 4. "Jesse has such a positive attitude and personality. He is committed to academics, sports and his family," said faculty member Janetta Brewster. "He will be attending college in the fall and has applied for every scholarship and financial aid he can find to help his family." "He has pride and only accepts the best from himself. Students of all grades look to Jesse as a responsible, positive role model. Jesse puts a smile on my face every time I see him." Borner is the son of Lee Anna and Jesse Borner Sr. Darby Stirling, a student of Rowe Intermediate, has been selected as student of the week for the week of March 31 - April 4. "Darby is very nice. She is on task when she should be and works hard at her assignments," said teacher Sally Wegner. Stirling's hobbies include twirling and playing her clarinet. Her favorite subject is language arts because her teacher, Wegner, makes class fun.
Jasper Junior High Sandy Villanueva, an eighth grade student of Jasper Junior High School, has been selected as student of the week for the week of March 31-April 4. "Sandy is a wonderful art student. She focuses on the lesson and always does her best," said teacher Deborrah Simmons. "She is very creative and talented. I am very happy to have Sandy in my Art III class." Villanueva enjoys meeting new people and listening to music during her spare time.
She is the daughter of Oscar and Caritina Villanueva.
