Newton Lions urge everyone to attend multi-million dollar meeting on grants The Newton Lions Club is urging community members to attend the Thursday luncheon, April 3 at noon, at First Baptist Church of Newton to learn more about the $220 million dollars in grant money that is being distributed to 22 counties impacted by Hurricane Rita. "We want to impact the process to be sure that our people are taken care of," said Joe Miller, president of the Lion's Club and adviser to Second Hope Homes. The group will also discuss plans for the Newton County Fair, the Newton Lions' largest fundraising event of the year. |
