Grand Jury indicts eight

The Jasper County Grand Jury met March 25 and indicted eight defendants. Indictment does not mean these defendants are guilt, but that the grand jury found sufficient evidence to proceed with trial.

Gerald L. Bays, 55, of Buna; intoxicated manslaughter

Nicholas A. Turner, 29, of Shreveport, LA; driving with intoxicated with a passenger under 15 years of age

Karen L. Cofty (Eudy), 41, of Brookeland; possession of a controlled substance

April D. Jackson, 25, of Buna; driving while intoxicated with a passenger under 15

Donnie White, 37, of Colmesneil; possession of a controlled substance

James A. Beck, 25, of Jasper; theft

Michael Carter, 29, of Jasper; aggravated robbery

Michelle Watson, 26, of Brookeland; forgery
