First United Methodist Church will hold an auction at the church in downtown Hemphill April 5 at 9 a.m.

Air Show

The fourth annual Jasper Air Show is April 5-6 at Bell Field and includes air and ground shows of vintage and experimental aircraft, radio controlled planes, sky divers. For Call Debbie Foster at 384-2626.

Archeology

The Deep East Texas Archeological Society will meet Monday, April 7 at the Newton County History Center to plan their participation in the Texas Wilderness Pow-Wow at Village Creek State Park april 25-27. Members are asked to bring artifacts for the booth.

JHS Alumni

Constructing a plaza in front of Jasper High School is the topic at the JHS Alumni Association meeting in the boardroom on Park St. April 7 at 6:30 p.m.; contact Shirel Womack at 384-9993.

Retired teachers

The Jasper Retired Teachers Association will meet April 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the Christian Service Center of the Church of Christ. Speaker will be James Warner, giving a report on the Texas Legislature.

Kentucky Derby

The Woman's Civic Club of Jasper will hold their Kentucky Derby luncheon at Glorianna Farms Thursday, April 10, from 11:30 to 1:00. Call 384-8759.

Variety Show

In the Spotlight Productions will present The Rep Yo City Tour and Talent Search, old school/new school variety show.
