Jasper brings home three first places at Colmesneil Relays

The Jasper Lady Bulldog track team brought home three first place wins, five seconds and two thirds from the Colmesneil Relays, March 15.

"Almost all of the girls improved on their times in running or their distances in jumping and throwing," Coach Charles King said.

The 400 meter relay team of Jaleesa Johnson, Petrina Bronson, Champale Brumley, and Shanae Randall won first place.

The 800 meter relay team ran second. Members were Breeunna Hafford, Petrina Bronson, Victoria Tukes, and Brumley.

The 1600 meter relay also placed second. Hafford, Tukes, Randall, and Brumley fielded that team.

In individual field events, Breeunna Hafford won first place in the triple jump and second in the long jump.

Shanae Randall was first in long jump and second in high jump.

In individual running events, Jaleesa Johnson placed second in the 100 meter dash and third in the 200 meter.

Daffney Sells was third in the 100 meter dash.

In addition, Brandi Goff got sixth place in the shot put, Allison Collins ran fifth in the 300 meter hurdles, and Haley Shipman was fifth in the 100 meter dash.

The district meet is Thursday and Saturday at Silsbee.
