Carreou bonds out as shooting victim dies

Roy Carreou, 57, of Vidor was bonding out of the Jasper County Jail minutes before shooting victim Travis Fillmore Daigle, 32, of Bridge City died in a Beaumont hospital.

Carreou had been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, his bond set at $25,000. He allegedly shot Daigle in a family dispute.

Chief Deputy Jack Jett of the sheriff's department said more serious charges of murder or homicide may be left up to the grand jury.
