Elsie Ellis

Funeral services for Elsie Ellis, 85, of Jasper were held Monday, April 21, 2008 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, with burial following at Mason-Smith Cemetery.

Elsie died April 18, 2008 at her residence in Jasper. A native of Newton County, she was a longtime Jasper resident and member of Bishop Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Survivors include three sons, Frank Ellis of Jasper, Wallace Ellis of Deweyville and Carl Ellis of Buna; two daughters, Melba Severa of Cypress and Rose McCutchen of New Caney; 18 grandchildren, 28 greatgrandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Frank Olan Ellis, and by a daughter, Shirley Beth Munsinger.
