Newton grad to lecture at Christian College in South Africa
As a visiting lecturer, Haynes will teach an eightweek period during the summer. Haynes is scheduled to teach in the areas of family counseling and race reconciliation. The race reconciliation program is designed to educate students about the racial divide subsequent to the elimination of apartheid in South Africa. The family counseling and development program addresses marriage and family issues within a South African context. Haynes graduated from Newton High School in 1993 and attended Baylor University. She completed doctoral studies in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (Los Angeles) in 2001. Currently, Haynes is a full-time professor in the doctoral clinical psychology program at Argosy University in Dallas. She has professional affiliations with Texas Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association's (APA) Division 2 - Teaching of Psychology and Division 52 - International Psychology. Haynes serves on the Diversity Committee for APA Division 2. |
