Jimmie L. "Pappaw" Williams

Funeral services for Jimmie L. "pappaw" Williams, 82, of Jasper were held Saturday, April 26, 2008 at The First Baptist Church in Jasper with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery.

Jimmie died Tuesday, April 22 at his residence in Jasper. A native of Arkansas, he was a longtime Jasper resident. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor with the Visador Corporation in Jasper after many years of service. He was a longtime member and former Fire Chief of The Jasper Volunteer Fire Department. He formerly enjoyed horseback riding and raising children. He passionately loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Jean Williams of Jasper, daughter Judy Love of Kirbyville, brother Walter "Herk" Williams of Crossett, Arkansas, sister Mary F. Wheeler of Crossett, Arkansas, five grandchildren of which he raised three as his own, Greg Davis of League City, TX, Terri Davis of Bastrop, LA, and Denise Griffith of Jasper, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and his son Jimmy Wayne Williams.

Memorials may be made to the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department in Jasper, TX.
