Plea bargains

District Judge Jerome Owens resolved 10 cases with plea bargains April 18 and 21.

Kendrick L. Jones, 23, of Jasper pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and received three years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).

Daniel England, 23, of Brookeland pleaded guilty to burglary of a habitation and received eight years TDCJ, taking all other pending cases in Jasper into consideration.

Phillip Ray Commons, 36, of Kirbyville, waived indictment on delivery of a controlled substance and received three years deferred adjudication, a $1,000 fine, $286 in court cost, $140 restitution, attorney fee and 120 hours community service.

Helen Lawyn Holt, 30, of Sompson, LA, waived indictment on driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age and received two years state jail probated for three years; a $1,000 fine, $386 in court cost, attorney fee, 120 hours community service and 90 days drivers license suspension.

Gregory Arrington, 25, of Spurger waived indictment on a prohibited weapon charge and received five years TDCJ probated for five years, a $2,500 fine, $286 in court costs, attorney fee and 160 hours community service.

Timothy H. Rawls, 20, of Kirbyville waived indictment on theft charges and received three years deferred adjudication, a $1,000 fine, $236 in court cost, $356.87 restitution, attorney fee, and 120 hours community service.

Hallie Washington, 41, of Jasper waived indictment on secure exchange of document by deception and received two years deferred adjudication, $3,366 restitution, $236 court cost, and attorney fee.

In a motion to revoke probation or adjudicate guilt, Dedrick A. Ervin, 28, of Newton received one year state jail for possession of a controlled substance.

On April 21, Michael Allen Hetzel, 34, or Vidor agreed to a plea bargain on evading arrest with a vehicle and received two years state jail.
