Your Viewpoint Letters to the Editor

JCSO commended
for job well done
By SAM CHAMBERLAIN
Alvin

Last Thursday, April 10th, Officer Terry Lee of the Jasper Sheriff's Department assisted by Texas Game Warden Justin Eddins successfully apprehended my 13- year-old granddaughter and her friend, who were runaways from Alvin, that had been missing for 24 hours even though a regional APB was sent out by the Alvin Police Department.

In addition, Jasper County Juvenile Officer Barnes deserves credit for guidance and counseling of my granddaughter. The Laura Recovery Center was also very helpful in assisting us. When you watch TV and see these events happen to others, you never realize the anxiety and tension the parents and friends of a runaway are going thru until you face it yourselves.

By the Grace of God she was spotted, which led to communication and a fast response by authorities in Jasper County. God Bless you and I personally want to thank you for your efforts and responsiveness on behalf of my family and friends. Letters to editor criteria announced
