Historic Starr house reopens

The Starr State Historic Site in Marshall is now open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., for tours of the 1870's home.

Eighteen sites formerly under Texas Parks and Wildlife were recently transferred to the Texas Historical commission.

"The additional funding we received through the transfer to the Texas Historical Commission allowed us to expand our hours and offer more tours," said site manager Cathy Marshall.
