Griffin - Rowe Wed

Miss Megan Elizabeth Griffin and Mr. Christopher Don Rowe were united in marriage on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at half past six o'clock in the evening at First Baptist Church in Jasper, Texas. The traditional double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Bryan South and W.W. Williford, III. Music for the ceremony was provided by Mr. Woody Wade. Mrs. Susan Brake, aunt of the bride, gave a reading.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at The Event Center with entertainment provided by Mr. Jones Band of Longview, Texas. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner. The bride and her bridal party were honored at a brunch on Saturday morning at the Belle Jim Hotel, which was hosted by Mrs. Mary Sue Fikes, grandmother of the bride and Mrs. Susan Brake, aunt of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ky D. Griffin of Jasper, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Sue Fikes and the late Mr. Jack Fikes of Jasper, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Griffin of Woodville, Texas. The groom is the son of Mrs. Suzanne Mixon of Jasper, Texas and Mr. Joe Rowe of Westlake, Louisiana. He is the grandson of Mrs. Margaret Munsell and the late Mr. Fred Munsell of Jasper, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Rowe of Newton, Texas.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a mermaid cut Anne Barge gown in ivory silk taffeta. The ruche bodice with sweetheart neckline was framed by straps heavily embellished with pearls and Swarovski crystals. To compliment her gown, the bride wore a cathedral length veil enhanced with Swarovski crystals. The bride carried a bouquet of cream peonies and wore an antique six-pence in her shoe given to her by Mrs. Helen Edwards, the bride's great aunt of the bride. The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown dresses by Dessy. The junior bridesmaids wore custom made dresses in champagne with brown sashes. They carried bouquets of hydrangeas, roses, and hyperconium.

Miss Collier Griffin of Tyler, Texas, and Miss Leigh Holt of Houston, Texas served as the bride's Maids of Honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Candis McDaniel of Flatonia, Texas, Miss Linsi Walker of Austin, Texas, Mrs. Courtney Clark of Montgomery, Texas, Mrs. Ashley Powell of Brookeland, Texas and Mrs. Kerri Reagan of Lufkin, Texas. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Taylor Rowe and Miss Macy Rowe, daughters of the groom. Members of the house party included Miss Kelly Mixon of Austin, Texas, Miss Blaire Blanchette of College Station, Texas and Miss Katherine Gibbons of Beaumont, Texas.

Mr. Lance Slaten of Longview, Texas served as Best Man. The groomsmen included Mr. Michael Massey of Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. Marcus Henslee of Beaumont, Texas, Mr. Shawn Mixon of Woodville, Texas, Mr. Andrew Golden of Brenham, Texas, Mr. Eric Coley of Nashville, Tennessee, and Mr. Scott Martindale of Livingston, Texas. Serving as ushers were Mr. Blake Blanchette of Grandbury, Texas, Mr. Carl Morgan of Jasper, Texas and Mr. Jason Reagan of Lufkin, Texas.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Jasper High School. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor degree in psychology. She is employed by State Farm Insurance. The groom is a 1991 graduate of Jasper High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. He is the owner of Auto Salon and employed by North Star Helicopters.

Following their honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Jasper, Texas.
