Jasper High School
Matt Garland is Jasper High School's student of the week for the week of May 12-16.
"Matt is a quiet young man with ideas of where he wants his life to go," said teacher Kenneth Simmons. "He keeps his grades up while working. Matt is involved in showing livestock and in extra-curricular activities. With all this, when you meet Matt in the hallways, he always has a smile on his face."
Garland is the son of Bernadine Garland.
Kimberly Morton, a seventh grade student at Jasper Junior High School, has been selected as student of the week for May 12- 16.
"Kim is a wonderful student who is always on her best behavior. She works hard in class and strives to do her best on every assignment," said teacher Becky Wilson. "Kim gets along well with her classmates too, and she is a joy to teach."
Morton is a junior high twirler and enjoys hunting with her dad during her spare time. Her favorite subject is history.
She is the daughter of Tommie and Donald Morton.

Rowe Intermediate
Lanesha Renfro, a sixth grade student at Rowe Intermediate, has been selected as student of the week for May 12-16.
"She was in my class last semester. She is always prepared, and ready to learn. Lanesha is always willing to help others," said teacher Morgan West. "She is always focused and puts forth her best effort. I was truly honored to have her in my class."
Her favorite subject is reading and she likes to sing.
Renfro is the daughter of Jeanna and Kellonger Renfro.
